Statement from Navasota ISD 3:35 p.m. October 24

This afternoon, school officials were alerted that a student at John C. Webb Elementary was in possession of toy airsoft gun located in their backpack. Although it was clearly identifiable as a toy airsoft gun, there was no credible threat to the safety of students or staff. We take all matters of this nature seriously and are addressing the situation according to district policies.

We would like to remind parents and students that airsoft guns, including toy replicas of any kind, are strictly prohibited on campus. Please take a moment to discuss the importance of following school rules and ensuring that no prohibited items are brought to school. Additionally, we urge students to inform a teacher or staff member immediately if they become aware of any concerns.
