Mrs. McAdams
Hi Everyone! It's a great day to be a Navasota ISD Rattler!
My name is Mary McAdams, and I teach 5th grade ELA and Social Studies classes this year at High Point. I have been a public school teacher for 22 years, and I even home-schooled my own children (all now adults) for about 7 seven years! I have taught Kindergarten through high school level classes in a variety of subjects. Reading and science have always been my favorite subject in school. This last school year I was recognized as High Point Elementary's Teacher of the Year. I feel extremely blessed and honored to have received this recognition award. Two years ago I became a Texas Education Agency exemplary teacher through the Teacher Incentive Allotment program. This is an honor I am so very proud of!
I am an Arizona native, but have lived in Texas for a total of 19 years. I have been married for 33 years to my wonderful husband, Joseph. We currently live in Montgomery, just a hop, skip, and jump from High Point. We have three beautiful adult children (Dylan, Cole, and Emily) ages 31, 29, and 26 whom I am very proud of. In addition, I became a grandma last year! I also have two adorable pups names Avery (a Vizsla) and Dakota (a mini Australian shepherd). They keep me busy now that I am an empty nester parent. My husband and I enjoy spending our personal time doing anything that involves the outdoors...camping, hiking, fishing, boating, gardening, home projects, etc.
If you have any questions or concerns for me, please feel free to reach out to me through the Dojo app, by email, or by calling the front office and leaving me a message. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
