About Me

My name is Whitney Gremillion, and this is my sixth year to teach at High Point Elementary. I graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and I love anything Aggies!  I have taught children in Texas for sixteen years, and teaching is definitely my calling.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing games and sports with my children and husband, watching Aggie football, and working on my farm (chickens, turkeys, ducks, and guineas are my favorite). I also enjoy learning about other cultures.  I speak Spanish and am teaching myself Mandarin.  I love to eat, and you will usually find coffee near me, especially if it's in the morning.  I love music and thoroughly enjoy singing (poorly) and dancing to it.

I absolutely love to read; my favorite types of books are classic literature and historical fiction.  Some of my favorite authors are Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, Christopher Paul Curtis, and Richard Peck. I like to watch movies, but I do not like movies that are based on books at all!

I have been married for fifteen years to a wonderful man.  We have five children...a twenty-two year old son, two eighth graders, one in fifth grade, and a six-year-old in first grade (the youngest two are here are High Point...my eighth graders are at NJH).  All children are a blessing, and ours have certainly blessed my life.

We share our home with several dogs and cats, as well as rats, fish, goats, lizards, ferrets, and a ball python, as well as my flock of chickens, guineas, turkeys, geese, and ducks.  We even have a forty-year-old tortoise named Vondi!  I love anything that walks, crawls, waddles, or slithers!
