Principal's Message

Hello, my name is John Bathke and I am so excited to be the principal here at High Point elementary.  This is my 4th year at High Point, and my 20th year in education.  I spent my first 11 years in the classroom teaching Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade in Spring and Spring Branch ISD’s.  I spent 3 years as an assistant principal at Davis High School in Aldine ISD and most recently, I spent 2 years as the principal at Round Top-Carmine’s 7th-12th grade high school.  I received my Masters degree from the University of Houston in Educational Leadership, and my Bachelors degree from Baylor University in elementary education. 

My family has started to join me here at High Point.  My daughter, Evelyn, is in 2nd grade with us and my son, Jack, is 6 and is currently in Kindergarten.  My wife, Genesis, stops by the school often and is always excited to see all the great things that we have going on.  If you see any of us around, please make sure that you stop and say hello!  I am truly blessed to be here, and love having the opportunity to work with all of the amazing people that are here.  I really love that at High Point, we make learning an adventure and are working hard every day to be a bright spot in the community.  I look forward to an amazing year at High Point this year!
